The Washington, DC Water For People Committee holds its monthly meetings the 3rd Wednesday
of every month to plan our upcoming events, discuss water issues and engage with guest speakers
on water and sanitation related topics. The meeting is open to the public and offers attendees an
opportunity to learn more about our group and what we do. Attendees who express a deeper
interest can also join our committee and take a leadership role in planning our events and
guiding the direction of our committee.

World Water Day Event at Ulah Bistro on March 24th. For more information on this event,

The next FWQA luncheon will be March 24, 2010 at the Channel Inn, 650 Water Street, S.W.
Washington, DC 20024. The speaker is Dr. Joseph Romm, editor of Climate Progress and Senior
Fellow at the Center for American Progress. He will address Climate Change in context of the
FWQA's 2010 theme of The Next Generation of Water...Challenges and Opportunities.
Dr. Romm was Acting Assistant Secretary of Energy for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
during the Clinton Adminstration, where he directed $1 billion in research, demonstration, and
deployment of clean energy and carbon-mitigation technology. Dr. Romm holds a Ph.D. in
Physics from MIT.
